6. Sin ruins the spirit
certainly degenerate sin spirit. David says: " Believe in me, oh God, a pure heart and renew a right spirit within me "(v. 10). The spirit of David was bitter and spoiled.
No food on the table might look good if you suffer from indigestion. To those people anything they like. You can learn when a person is returning to its bad habits. In a church, these people begin to have a critical spirit. In every church there are enough people and things to criticize. If you focus on that, just look around. When people are backsliding into sin, let's put your eyes on the Lord and begin to put the mistakes of those for whom Jesus died.
And David, as you see, was highly critical. His spirit was contaminated. Let me illustrate what I mean. Nathan the prophet, who was like the shepherd David, came to make a claim. Remember that David had committed adultery, and to cover it up was that Uriah the Hittite, Bathsheba's husband, was killed in battle. When you know Nathan, went before the king and said something like, " King, there is an issue that you must judge. It's something that you must pay ."
David enraged, leaped from his throne and said: " The man who has done that four times pay." Then Nathan said: " You are the man! " (see 2 Samuel12). Nathan used a parable to show David how he had embittered his spirit. Observe how quickly David tried the other man. I tried for stealing a lamb. But he had robbed a woman. He judged someone for killing an animal, but he had killed a human being. With a beam in your own eye, he wanted to try to remove the speck from someone else's eye. who falls into sin always act that way. Always has a bitter and mean spirit that finds fault with everyone else.
